The Adjunct Professor Georges Ekosse from University of Venda from 28th to 30th June 2017 led an intensive training workshop on Congress planning at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
The planning workshop was well attended and dealt with critical issues related to the upcoming international Congress which is slated to take place from 4th – 6th December, 2017. This interesting and productive workshop is one of the products of the already existing MoU between the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and University of Venda.
Prof. Ekosse, who doubles up as the Chairman of Limpopo Research Forum in South Africa and the Director in charge of Research at University of Venda, reminded the participants about the need to have all the collaborating universities take a major role in the planning of this congress. The collaborating universities include University of Venda (UNIVEN), University of Ibadan (UI), Walter Sisulu University (WSU), Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).
According to Prof. J.S.K. Achoka,the director of research at MMUST, there is good progress as far as the preparations for the congress are concerned and the planning is at an advanced stage. She reiterated that the university mangement had dealt with the budgetary constraints that had affected the effective preparations of the congress. The director added that her team is expecting a mammoth gathering of scholars from all types of disciplines, pointing out that the deadline for submission of abstracts is still 20th October, 2017. She encouraged staff to send their abstracts in response to the congress call. Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology is hosting this esteemed congress.
