Preamble

The communication and information revolution led to unprecedented expansion of information and knowledge. Any single institution may not harness the ever-increasing information on its own and in one place. The sharing of intellectual, physical resources and research activities consequently became way of maximizing learning opportunities.

ESTABLISHMENT OF DIAL

(i) Establishment

In 2010, it became necessary to establish the Directorate of International Relations and Academic Linkages (DIAL), to internationalize the University’s curricula and academic experiences, and promote linkages and partnerships.

(ii) Rationale

The establishment of the Directorate was due to the following reasons:

• To coordinate international students affairs and linkages.

• To harness student and staff exchange programmes.

• To provide advisory services to international students.

• To mobilize resources for University programmes.

 

Goal
To promote collaboration and partnership with institutions of higher learning, organizations and communities and permeate internationalization; coordinate affairs of international students / staff exchange and academic linkages.

 

Scope

The Directorate shall be responsible for the following functions:

(a) Internationalization and International relations.

(b) Students and staff Exchange.

(c) Linkages and collaborations.

(d) Resource mobilization.

(e) Community engagement and outreach programs.

(f) Facilitate students’ attachment and placement.

6. POSTGRADUATE, RESEARCH, LINKAGES AND INNOVATION (PSRLI) COMMITTEE OF THE SENATE

a. Terms of Reference (TORs)

(a) Main functions are to develop, review, approve and implement policies and procedures on behalf of Senate

(b) Membership composition include: DVC (PRI) as Chair, Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Directors of REL, STPIL, PSSP, ODEL and DIAL, Senate Reps, University Librarian, School / Faculty Reps, Finance Officer and Secretariat from DVC (PRI) Office.
