Visit to Rehabilitation School

MMUST Community Liaisons Officer, Mr Waswa served as a bridge with St Mary's Hospital, Mumias nurses to give donations to our neighbouring Rehabilitation School on Wednesday 10th May 2017.

This initiative involved working with and for neighbouring institutions.

According to Mr Waswa, there was dire lack of some basic needs in the institution and there was need for assistance from corporate organisations and individuals to improve and care for the children while they are being corrected.

MMUST Medical Outreach Activity

Photos for MMUST medical outreach activity held on 28th April 2017 at Mulwanda location, Butere Subcounty.

A total of 307 clients were attended to.Services offered included HIV testing and counselling, pharmacy services mainly for malaria, patient referrals mainly for severe malaria, malaria in pregnancy and high blood pressure.

Anti-Jigger Campaigns

We have participated in several anti-jigger campaigns within Kakamega County. During the anti-jigger campaigns we have managed to partner with County Government of Kakamega, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC)- Kakamega and Deliverance church Kakamega.

On 6th July, 2016 the anti-jigger campaign was held at Shiseso and Imulama areas in Kakamega County with 60 nursing students from MMUST taking lead. More than 500 pairs of shoes and slippers were distributed to the residents of Shiseso and Imulama areas. Several school going children were treated of jiggers. The event was attended by Mr. Muchiri, Community Transformation Coordinator, Dr. Rev. Mbogo,International Team Leader of African Evangelistic Enterprise and Mr.Waswa, the Community Liaison Officer, MMUST

Prof. Otieno Annual Open Tournament

The Champions of the Tournament were :Hockey (Musingu boys ),Volleyball (St Joseph Shivale ),Rugby (Chavakali Boys ), Basketball (Sigalame Boys ).Mr Issah Kweyu of sports department and the Liaisons officer awarded trophies, medals and certificates.

Mater Heart Run

It’s one of the most recognised and noble event in the Kenyan calendar. The Mater Heart Run 2016 Edition took place at Booker Academy and Mumias Sports Complex on 21st May 2016 as from 8.00 am.

The event was attended by the Dean, School of Public Health, Biomedical Sciences and Technology , Prof Charles Mutai, Chairman Of Sport Science department Mr. Issah Kweyu, Mr.Oscar Waswa, the Liaisons Officer, MMUST students and some residents of Kakamega County. MMUST were crowned the winners of the event
