Dr. Kizito, Eng. Mukangula ,Mr. Shihemi Adolf  of Body Flex Gym, Mr.Mugo Joseph

The occasion marks a monumental day for every student, staff and contact community. The building is expected to be completed by mid-march 2018.It will house a fitness center with the most up to date equipment, studio, cafeteria and changing rooms.

Prof. Otieno recognized the importance of the gymnasium and acknowledged that this was a product of the leadership and foresight and careful planning from the Sports Science Department headed by Mr. Issah Kweyu.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Fred Otieno, was also cognizant of the students and staff packed schedules. He said classes, family or social obligations have filled up their calendar. He acknowledged that exercise scientific evidence is piling up and shows that regular exercise provides important cognitive and health benefits  that could make students and staff scholarly efforts and working a little less taxing.

Prof. Otieno said the benefits accruing from exercise would include: stimulating brain cell development, improving memory retention, increasing focus and concentration, improving once mood and relieving stress, providing opportunity for social interaction, provide work/life balance by having health workers who are more productive and take less sick days, eases pressure on health systems therefore promoting a healthy and active lifestyle
