Social Sciences Education

The Social Sciences focus on interactions among people, society and institutions, based primarily in the present. Social Sciences courses provide an understanding of society and an introduction to multiple methods of inquiry and modes of reasoning that require the use of evidence to test ideas. Through study of the social sciences, students explore the relationship between personal and social worlds and develop responsibility not only to themselves but also to the broader society in which they live by integrating a variety of ideas into their own informed perspectives.
