Dr. John Ekwenye
Dr. John Ekwenye a Senior Lecturer and the Chairperson , Department of Social Science Education School of Arts and Social Sciences at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. He oversees the running and the daily operations of both academic and non academic staff and reports to the Dean of the School. He teaches religion courses and supervises both postgraduate and undergraduate students.Dr.Ekwenye holds Doctor of Philosophy in Religion from the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies in Philippines (2014), Masters of Religion in Biblical studies from Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies, Philippines (2011), Bachelors of Theology from Baraton University (2008) and Diploma in Ministerial Training from Kamagambo Adventist College (1998).The successful completion of his Dissertation equipped Dr.Ekwenye with a rich background in research.
His areas of academic and research interest focus on religion and its impact on different areas of society. Dr.Ekwenye acknowledges the influence religion has on the lives of individuals in a given society,making it worthwhile to study it in terms of its theories of origin, nature, functions and how it interfaces with other fields of study such as Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology among others.
