Wafula Dan Makokha, an undergraduate student pursuing Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science in the Department of Biological Sciences (School of Natural Sciences-MMUST) on Industrial Attachment at the Nzoia Water Services Company (NZOWASCO) in Bungoma County under the mentorship of the Plant Manager Mr. Hillary Simiyu and Dr Mario Kollenberg (MMUST).

“During my attachment at NZOWASCO, I successfully learnt the processes of water treatment from raw river water through sedimentation, coagulation, filtration and disinfection; as well as waste water treatment before discharge into the river. I also learnt to operate various facilities present at the treatment works and also the distribution of treated clean water to the customers connected on the line. Beisdes these, I learnt metering and billing customers”.
