dsWayumbu Oduor Austine, an undergraduate student pursuing Bachelor of Science in Biology in the Department of Biological Sciences (School of Natural Sciences-MMUST) on Industrial Attachment at the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Agribusiness, Bunyala Sub-County Fisheries (Busia County) under the mentorship of the Fishery Expert, Kimani Shadrack and Dr. MARIO KOLLENBURG(MMUST), in June 2021.

“During my attachment in the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Agribusiness, Bunyala Sub-County Fisheries, I successfully learnt the sampling strategies of stocking density in fish cages, determination of the amount of feeds administerd in the different cages and the types of feeds that are given to different fish depending on their sizes. I also learnt the process of fingerlings and brooders transfer for rearing in the oxygen bags, fish pairing ratio for the breeding purposes,”
