Nelly Jerop Koech, an undergraduate student pursuing Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology in the Department of Biological Sciences (School of Natural Sciences-MMUST) on Industrial Attachment at the Kenya agricultural and livestock research organization-Njoro under the mentorship of the microbiology geneticist Mr. Cyrus Kimani and Mr Nicholas Kitungulu (MMUST), in June 2021.

“During my attachment at KALRO Njoro, I successfully learnt DNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, PCR and detection of plant pathogens like the maize lethal necrosis disease and cassava viruses.” she said
