Wanjala Clinton Wabwile, an undergraduate student pursuing Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology in the Department of Biological Sciences (School of Natural Sciences-MMUST) on Industrial Attachment at the Government Chemist Department in Kisumu County under the mentorship of the Senior Chemist Mr. Lutta Polycarp and Dr. Edna Ooko Opany (MMUST), in June 2021.

“During my attachment at the Government Chemist Department, I successfully learnt the processes of receiving, lebeling and safe storage of exhibits to avoid degradation before analysis. I also learnt how to carefully handle exhibits without contaminating them to avoid wrong results in toxicology and DNA and serology section. I learned extraction techniques in toxicology, food and drugs and DNA and serology together with analytical skills involved, recording of results and generation of reports.
