Sharon Arusei, an undergraduate student pursuing Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology in the Department of Biological Sciences (School of Natural Sciences- MMUST) on Industrial Attachment at the Water Resources Authority (WRA-Kakamega) under the mentorship of Md. Judith Kavala (Senior Water Quality and Polution Control Ofiicer, Mr. Peterlis Opango (Senior laboratory Analayst), Md. Matilda Ogere (Laboratory Analyst) and Prof. Shivonga (MMUST) in june 2021.

“During my attachment in WRA-Kakamega, I successfully learnt how to analyse various water samples to determine whether they are fit for human consumption and use. I also familiarized with various microbiological techniques and various bacterial species that are not safe for human health. Additionally, I learnt how to receive water samples from various water sources, carry out various water quality analysis, preparing analytical certificates and issuing them to the clients. "
