The Kenya DAAD Scholars Association (KDSA) is a non-political organization that brings together current and former DAAD scholars who have received sponsorship from German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for M.Sc and PhD studies, locally and abroad. Scholars who were funded for short study visits (3 months) in Germany also qualify to be members of KDSA. KDSA has been in existence since 3rd March 1992 and currently has over 10 chapters in public universities in Kenya. KDSA MMUST chapter prides in being the most active at national level and is humbled and delighted to host this year’s 2021 KDSA conference from 15th – 18th June, 2021. The theme of the conference is Mitigating the impact of COVID-19 and future pandemics: Role of Academia.
The following are the sub-themes:
1. Food Security, Nutrition and COVID-19
2. Strengthening Health Systems in Dealing with Pandemics
3. Global Economic Outlook of COVID-19 and other pandemics
4. Untapped Potentials in Humanities and Social Sciences in dealing with COVID-19 and future Pandemics
5. Novel Technology and Engineering to COVID-19 and future pandemics response.
