MMUST has three major projects ongoing. The first one is the TVET complex, which will house the TVET institute. This project is very important as the TVET institute will be independent from the University and will be able to admit students separately. The second ongoing project is the Olympic size swimming pool, which is the third largest in the country. The swimming pool will serve as a laboratory for Sports Science students in the University as well as aiding in hydrotherapy for both the University and the community. The third project is the footbridge which is being constructed to ease the movement of students from hostels to the University.

Prof. Shibairo’s administration is keen on making sure that the University has all the infrastructural facilities required to create a conducive environment for staff and students. Further, he said that in due course, different schools will be operating from different sections, which he said will do away with the congestion experienced earlier when various schools shared space.  Suchinfrastructural development reflects the University’s mission to provide high quality service delivery
