MMUST SECURITY TEAM PARTNERS WITH KAKAMEGA FOREST SECURITY DEPARTMENT TO BEEF UP STUDENTS’ SECURITY AT THE FOREST

According to Mr. Mabia, the recent insecurity cases emanating from the forest involving MMUST students is the main reason that led to the consultative meeting between the two institutions. “We have had insecurity cases involving our students when they visit the forest. In order to curb other incidences that may arise in the future, we have decided to erect warning signposts in the forest to alert our students of the areas they should not visit without the forest guards,” added Mr. Mabia.

The two parties agreed to work together to ensure a boost of security for the students. They advised that going forward, students planning to visit the forest should seek assistance from the forest security officers to guard them as they walk around the forest.

The Security officers from the Forest Department included the Regional Commander, Mr. Harrison Afuata, County Forest Commander, Mr. William Asugo, and Assistant Regional Commander, Ms. Susan Munoko.
