The Kenya Red Cross MMUST Chapter once again dominated the Western Region First Aid Competitions hosted at MMUST on 15th March 2025. In a stirring display of skill, precision, and teamwork, the Kenya Red Cross MMUST Chapter clinched the top awards as the best Tertiary Institution Team, EMT Team and Corporate Team crowning them the frontrunners and the champions of theWestern Region First Aid Competitions!

The event brought together various teams from schools, institutions, and community organizations across the County. MMUST Red Cross Chapter demonstrated unmatched expertise in life-saving techniques, overcoming stiff competition from other teams in a series of challenging scenarios.They showcased exemplary performance in theory exams, emergency drills, teamwork and preparedness. The teams will be proceeding to the regional First Aid competitions on 14th May 2025.

The competition, which underscores the mission of the Red Cross society in enhancing emergency preparedness in the region, featured participants competing in simulated first aid situations. These included handling traumatic injuries and administering CPR. The participating teams were ranked according to their ability to apply practical first aid knowledge, maintain composure under pressure, and work together as a cohesive unit.
Through engaging demonstrations and interactions, the event also served as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of first aid knowledge, with organizers emphasizing that basic first aid skills can save lives in emergencies.
This of our students victory highlights the continued excellence of the Kenya Red Cross MMUST Chapter through their mastery of First Aid skills. It also shows their commitment to promoting health and safety in the region, reaffirming their role as the 'First Responders' during an emergency.
