MMUST has rolled out an intensive training workshop to empower members of the Senate in implementing the university’s Strategic Plan. The workshop, themed ‘Pragmatic Approach to Implementation of the MMUST Strategic Plan: Role of Senate,’ which kicked off today, Thursday, 20th March, 2025 will go on up to Friday, 21st March 2025 at Sirikwa Hotel in Eldoret. The training workshop opening was graced by Dr. Kennedy Ochieng Olungo (representing Chairperson of Council, Dr. Pamela Sitienei and Ms. Grace Kimotho). The event was attended by the DVC, ASA- Prof. Hussein Golicha, also representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo and Ag. DVC, PRI- Prof. Peter Bukhala.

The facilitators of the highly productive sessions are Prof. Raphael Munavu- University of Nairobi, Dr. Peter Changilwa- USIU Africa, Mr. Edward Gisemba-Wise Improve Consultants, Prof. Maurice Okoth- University of Eldoret, Dr. Jared Ongaro-Open University of Kenya, Prof. Walter Oyawa- CEO, NACOSTI, Dr. Simon Angote- Kenya School of Government and MMUST Member of Council, Dr. George Lutomia.

Notably, this training comes at the right time when the institution is implementing its new strategic plan 2023-2027. Such capacity building will undoubtedly equip the Senators with the requisite skills and attitude required to enable the Strategic Plan to become a driving force and transformative tool in MMUST.
