About IMLD Conference

The 21^st of February is an important day to persons who value language and cultural diversity. This is the day designated by UNESCO as the International Mother Language Day (IMLD) and earmarked for `the purpose of celebrating mother language and promoting cultural diversity. It is in this spirit of celebration that the Department of Language and Literature Education has organized a three-day conference to be held on 19-21 February 2020 at the Masinde Muliro University premises in Kakamega.

The anticipated participants are scholars, publishers and stakeholders in the fields of Language & Linguistics, Literature, Anthropological Linguistics, Communication, Translation, Sociology of Language, Interpretation, Language Localization, Language Education and Political Science.
