About IMLD Conference

The 21st of February is an important day to persons who value language and cultural diversity. This is the day designated by UNESCO as the International Mother Language Day (IMLD) and earmarked for `the purpose of celebrating mother language and promoting cultural diversity. It is in this spirit of celebration that the Department of Language and Literature Education has organized a three-day conference to be held on 19-21 February 2020 at the Masinde Muliro University premises in Kakamega.

The anticipated participants are scholars, publishers and stakeholders in the fields of Language & Linguistics, Literature, Anthropological Linguistics, Communication, Translation, Sociology of Language, Interpretation, Language Localization, Language Education and Political Science.
