MMUST Librarians Empowered on Utilization of E-Resources!

On 13th June 2024, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) librarians participated in an in-house empowerment training focused on enhancing their knowledge on e-resources utilization. The workshop aimed to improve access to up-to-date books and journals in the University and was facilitated by Mr. Eric Shitubi, the Educational Solutions Specialist from Snapplify- a global digital library provider.

During his presentation, the University Librarian, Mr. Vincent Chibini emphasized the importance of the Council’s ‘Rapid Results Initiatives’, an initiative of the University’s Strategic Plan requiring departments to identify and achieve projects or tasks within 90 days. The library team discussed customizing information in the Strategic Plan to meet these targets, contributing to its overall success. Mr. Chibini highlighted key drivers such as leadership, culture, performance, and stakeholder values, while addressing common strategy execution mistakes and behaviours to avoid in order for the team to realize this success.
