"MMUST students entrusted you with the responsibility of representing them through a democratic election process," Prof. Shibairo told the incoming leaders. "We expect you to uphold the values of our institution and work tirelessly for the betterment of student welfare. Avoid engaging in social media sensitization with unverified information. Work with the University managers to ensure that our students are well informed on what is happening in the University and the nation at large, especially at this time where there is a lot of misinformation going on about the new University funding model." Prof. Shibairo stated.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Hussein Golicha congratulated students for winning a highly contested election. He called upon the new students leaders to carry the hopes and aspirations of their fellow students. I encourage you to approach these sessions with an open mind and a readiness to learn, as the skills you develop here will serve you well throughout your academic journey and beyond.
