MMUST RFC continued their fantastic performance in the Nationwide Western Region Conference-A league by crushing Sheywe RFC 46:6 on Saturday 17th March 2018. This extended their lead in the seven-team competition to 50 points. The champions have now created a huge gap of 20 points from their closest rival Webuye RFC.

Tries from Mmasi, Wamocho, Wasambwa, Mbeche, Lumbwani and Shirievo sealed the win that guaranteed MMUST RFC participation in the Nationwide Western Region semi-final playoffs. They are now poised to head to the National Playoffs where the winner proceeds to The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship.

MMUST RFC Head Coach Dr. Ochieng Ahaya expressed optimism that the team will maintain their good performance. “I really expect these strong youth to play in the Championship next season now that we are leading by a big margin” said Dr. Ahaya. MMUST RFC comprises of both current students and alumni
