The highly anticipated Africa Climate Mobility Academy workshop has successfully kicked off today, 14th October, 2024 at Golf Hotel-Kakamega. The event, which is steered by Dr. Nicodemus Nyandiko in partnership with CIAT and CGIAR, involves key researchers from MMUST and across Africa, who are participating as mentors, facilitators, and fellows.
The presentations made by researchers in today's sessions were geared towards exploring innovative solutions to climate-induced displacement and fostering resilience across the continent.
Hosting this exciting global event is evidence that MMUST is attracting credible international partners and exhibiting the capacity to handle efforts of addressing research imbalance between the global south and north in matters related to climate change. Ultimately, the Africa Climate Mobility Academy will increase the visibility of African researchers.
The workshop will officially be opened tomorrow, 15th October, 2024 by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo.
