On 18th February, 2025, a team of faculty members, led by the Chairperson of the Department, Dr. Julius Rono, officially presented the donated equipment to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs,Prof. Hussein Golicha.

“Community outreach is one of the most effective ways to market a University, as it provides tangible proof of its ability to address societal challenges. MMUST has demonstrated its capacity in this area, and this department is leading the way,” said Prof. Golicha.  He further urged the department to document and publish its findings on vision-related challenges, highlighting the scarcity of comprehensive data in Kenya and across Africa. Additionally, he pledged his support in advocating for more resources to sustain and expand the Department’s outreach programs.
