MMUST makes a Big Stride towards Becoming a Paperless University

Did you know that MMUST has successfully moved most of its services to both staff and students from paper to online?

The desire of any stakeholder in an organization is access to basic services at a click of a button, from the comfort of their office or house. This saves on time and resources used in the whole process. Research shows that more than Kshs.10 million is used to procure rims of paper and maintenance of printing machines in offices. Off course we cannot totally do away with papers but we can totally reduce the amount of papers used in our institutions.

MMUST has been gradually growing in the way services are offered, for customer satisfaction. Some years back, most of the services in the university were purely manual. People had to move from one office to another carrying lots of papers for various applications or approval. Today, through the Directorate of ICT, the university has impressively improved. Today, MMUST boasts of online room booking for students, online reporting for sessions, online access to semester teaching and exam timetables, access to academic and fee status and now, we have online leave application services for staff. The idea of queuing at a particular place to submit papers is now a thing of the past.

The university director of ICT Mr. Apollo Waliaro noted that the Directorate of ICT will not relent in its mission to ensure that the university offers most of its services paperless. “Becoming a paperless institution is where I want this university to be. It is possible. We are dealing with one thing at a time and soon we will be running a paperless university. This will bring about a paradigm shift in the way our clients perceive us. We want our clients to access our services from whichever place they might be around the world. Currently in MMUST any staff who wants to apply for leave can simply go to the website, log in and proceed with the application, unlike previously where they had to fill forms manually” said Mr. Waliaro.

Online leave application for staff can simply be accessed by visiting the website, under e-resources, open the staff and student portal, login using your Personal File (PF) number and your ID as your password. Inside your account, go to Leave application section and proceed. That is how simple it is.
We urge you to embrace this technological shift and enjoy the high quality services offered at the University of Choice.
