The Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government, Kakamega County today 4th February 2022 visited MMUST. The delegation was led by the incoming County Commissioner Kakamega County, Mr. John Ondego who was meeting all National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO) within Kakamega County. The meeting, which involved thirteen (13) Deputy County Commissioners, fifty-five (55) Assistant County Commissioners as well as three hundred and thirty-two (332) Chiefs and Sub-chiefs from Kakamega County, took place at MMUST’s Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH)
The issues discussed included partnership between the University and National Government, priorities in implementation of the Kenya Government’s Big Four Agenda and Security. They also discussed the achievements and challenges faced in containment of COVID-19. After the grand meeting, a section of the team led by DCC Kakamega Central Ngalia Ndaya paid a courtesy call to the DVC Administration and Finance, who was also representing the Vice Chancellor Prof. Solomon Shibairo. “As a University, we rely on the regional administration to ensure security and order in the institution. We are committed to support the incoming County Commissioner in security and other national matters,” stated Prof Thuo.
The meeting at MPH was attended by Director of Post Graduate Studies Professor Stephen Odebero, and Community Outreach Officer, Dr. Issa Kweyu. The Boardroom meeting was attended by the Director Corporate Communications and Marketing Dr. Lydia Anyonje, Mr. Moses Onyango, DCC Kakamega Central Mr. Ngalia Ndaya, DCC Matungu Mr. Ronald Enyakasi and DCC Kakamega North Mr. Daniel Katete.
