MMUST’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Solomon Shibairo on 13th May, 2022 led MMUST delegation to participate in the 2022 President's Award-Kenya celebrations at statehouse. He was accompanied by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics and Students Affairs, Prof. Hussein Golicha and MMUST’s Professor of Nutritional Sciences Prof. Asenath Sigot. The ceremony was presided over by His Excellency Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, the President of the Republic of Kenya and the Patron of the Presidential Award Kenya.

The President's Award-Kenya (PA-K) is an exciting self-development programme, which was launched in 1966 by the Founding Father of the nation, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. It exists to develop and deliver quality experiential activities that impart positive life skills and ethical values to young people for a better society.

As part of the University’s contribution towards community transformation and development, MMUST delegation joined the Presidential team to carry out a corporate social responsibility initiative which involved contributing foodstuffs to four Maasai families. They finalized by having a two hours’ session with the ‘Blackest man in the black Africa’ - Fred Obachi Machokaa at his Ranch in Kajiado.  Participants were so excited as they received words of wisdom from the renowned veteran broadcaster.
