            ANNE ASWANI MUSOTSI

Anne Aswani Musotsi holds a PhD in Food Science and Nutrition from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology-Kenya; Master of Science degree in Community Nutrition and Development and B.Ed Home Science and Technology; Maseno University.  She has over 10 years of university teaching and academic research; working with rural, peri-urban and urban poor communities in Kenya. She is passionate about working with rural communities to enhance utilization of indigenous foods and bioactive compounds for nutrition and health. She is a PhD scholar of the project: Horticultural Innovations and Learning for Improved Nutrition and Livelihoods in East Africa (HORTINLEA) funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation. She was a visiting researcher; Faculty of Agriculture, Division of Gender and Globalization, Humboldt University of Berlin between the years 2015-2017, where she studied qualitative methods and integrating gender in to food and nutrition studies. She has attended various international conferences and workshops. She has featured in the movie “revival of the fittest” to promote indigenous vegetables in Kenya. She is Lecturer at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Department of Nutritional Sciences.
