Dr. Damaris Ochanda.

Dr. Damaris Ochanda is the current Chairperson, Department of Nursing Research, Education and Management in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedical Sciences of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. As the pioneer chair of the department, she has contributed immensely in its establishment and streamlining of the implementation of the graduate programs within the school. Dr.Ochanda holds a Bsc (Nursing) from University of Nairobi, Hons. BA (Health Studies) from University of South Africa (UNISA), MA (Health Studies) from UNISA and a PhD in Public Health from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.She is a registered nurse with over eight (8 ) years clinical nursing experience and thirteen (13) years in Higher Education training of both undergraduate and postgraduate nurses.Her main interest is in Nursing Education and Research.In a bid to address mental health issues among students in institutions of higher learning, Dr.Ochanda is currently writing a Book Chapter on the State of Mental Health of Students in Universities,to be published by IGI Global in a book titled Student Stress and Mental Health in Higher Education.
