Dr Edwin K. Kanda holds Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Engineering specializing in irrigation engineering from University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Dr Kanda also holds MSc degrees in Water Engineering and Project Management and Bachelor of Technology in Civil and Structural Engineering. His research interest is in water and environmental engineering, irrigation engineering, hydrology, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and climate change. The energy-food and water nexus is an interesting research area is also the focus of Dr Kanda’s research. He is also interested in emerging contaminants in river basins in Kenya with special reference to antibiotic pollution. He currently serves as the Examinations co-ordinator in the Department
