Dr. Joyce K. Nthiiri

Dr. Joyce K. Nthiiri is the Director, Curriculum Review and Development (CReD) and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics. She holds a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics. Her current research is on Mathematical Biology, specifically, Modeling Infectious Diseases such as Covid19, HIV and AIDS, Pneumonia, Tuberculosis among others. According to Dr.Nthiiri , mathematical models are used to understand the transmission of infections and to evaluate the potential impact of control programmes in reducing morbidity and mortality. Dr. Nthiiri also engages in postgraduate students teaching and supervision.

She also reviews journal articles for a couple of journals as well as examine postgraduate theses.

She is a member of African Women Mathematics Association (AWMA) and African Women in Science and Engineering (AWSE).

Some of her key published works include: -
