Dr. Ogutu J.P. Joel
Dr. Ogutu J.P. Joel is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Educational Psychology and currently the Coordinator Butula Study Centre of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. He oversees the daily operations of the campus, supervises both academic and non-academic staff and reports to the Director in charge campuses. He teaches, advises, supervises and coordinates students on academic and research fields in the School of Education. His areas of academic and research interest are in the fields of Educational psychology, guidance, vocational psychology, mental health,self-efficacy and self-concept in psychology.
He has successfully partnered in research and appointed in thesis examination at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. He takes part in community service and outreach in providing mentorship, leadership and motivational talks to high school students.
He holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (2017), Med in Guidance and Counseling from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (2011), Bachelors of Education Arts from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (2009) and Diploma in Education from Kagumo College (1989)
He has successfully guided and supervised four (4) Masters Students.
His professional bodies and accreditations are;
1. A member of Kenyan Guidance, Counseling and Psychological Association. .
