Dr. Steffi Schatz is a lecturer in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedical Science. She is a Dentist, studied at Humboldt University of Berlin. She has over 20 years of experiences in practising Dentistry. She is specialized in advanced periodontology, periodontal surgery and guided tissue regenerating procedures.

Dr. Steffi Schatz worked as a private Dentist in Germany and in Kenya as a Consultant in Bungoma West Hospital, Life Care Hospital Bungoma and In Royal Dental Clinic Kisumu. Furthermore she has long term  experiences in Community work at Mobile Dental outreaches in Kenya.

She is a licensed Practitioner as well in Germany as in Kenya.

She defended her PhD Theses in Berlin in 1995 in the Department of Periodontology of the Dental School of the Humboldt University with the title “ Determination of enzyme activities in the periimplant sulcus fluid”. The results were published at the Euro Perio conference in Paris 1994 and in several international journals.

She wrote a curriculum for BsC for Community Oral Health , which will be launched in the Department of Paramedical Science within the next semester.
