Comm. Prof. Joseph Wamocha Nasongo

Professor Joseph Wamocha is an Associate Professor in the department of Educational Foundations, School of Education at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. Currently, he is the Director Performance Monitoring and Evaluation, where he directs and oversees the running of the university through a continuous monitoring, quarterly, biannually and annually evaluation of departments performance as per their signed performance contracting indicators. Prof. Nasongo is a certified professional mediator, consultant in peacemaking and community mobilizer in social economic and educational transformation. He is the former commissioner National Cohesion and Integration Commission, Kenya
He is also specialized in conflict resolution and management as well as diplomacy and foreign policy
He holds PhD degree in Conflict Resolution and Management from Masinde Muliro University Science and Technology (2011), Master of Arts in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy from Moi University (2018), Master of Education in Philosophy of Education and Bachelor of Education (arts) Both of Kenyatta University (1997&1991 respectively).
Prof. Nasongo has undertaken funded research studies on ‘the impact of violent conflict on basic education in Mount Elgon region’, funded by SNV, Review of retirement benefits regulations and income regulations in Kenya, funded by RBA,‘The integration of social accountability in the Tachonirites of passage’, funded by Ford Foundation.
Concerning University Research Funds (URF), Prof. Nasongo has participated as a researcher in a team that investigated on “Enhancing Resilience against COVID-19 among Boarder Communities in Busia County, Kenya (2020-2021). He is currently a principal investigator in a study titled ‘Building a mutual framework for mitigating adolescent pregnancies in Bungoma County, Kenya’ (2021-2022). Both studies were funded by Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
He has supervised 1 PhD and 8 Masters and External Examiner at Alupe University College
