    Prof.Frank Khachina Matanga

Professor Frank Matanga is a Professor of political science, sub field development politics. He Graduated with Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Masters of Arts (MA) Degrees in Political Science, from the University of Nairobi. Prof. Matanga holds a PHD in Politics from RHODES University in South Africa. He presented a Professorial Inaugural Lecture in 2018, titled “Conceptualizing Peace, Security and Development: a critical discourse “. Besides being a member of a consortium of senior African Scholars based at the University of Lusaka in Zambia, he has been a visiting Professor at the University of Rwanda, Centre for Conflict Management. He has published over fifty (50) articles in Refereed journals in addition to four University level books. He has mentored to successful completion over Forty (40) Doctoral candidates and at least thirty (30) masters’ candidates.
Prof. Matanga has attended several international conferences and workshops in Africa and other parts of the world. He is also a member of several political science associations based in Africa and around the World. In terms of University Administration and Management, Prof. Matanga has served in various capacities such as Chair of Department and Dean/Director of Faculty/School. In addition, he has served as external examiner in several Universities that include: Maseno University (Kenya), the University of Nairobi (Kenya), Kenyatta University (Kenya) Moi University (Kenya) United States International University (USIU), Rhodes University (South Africa) and the University of Lusaka (Zambia).
He is also a consultant with the Commission for University Education (CUE) Kenya, where he has been a peer reviewer of academic programmes in political science, Public Administration, International Relations and Peace and Conflict Studies.
