James Robert Wakungwi Sakwa:
Mr. James Robert Wakungwi Sakwa is a Principal Medical Laboratory Technologist (PMLT) with a Diploma and Higher Diploma in Medical Parasitology & Entomology.He holds degrees in Medical Laboratory Science from Kenya Medical Training College and Mount Kenya University respectively.Beyond his academic qualifications, Mr.Wakungwi has expertise in facilitation, surveying, and technical and assessment and medical laboratory testing in general with 28 years of progressive experience in senior technical management and supervision in the Kenyan health Sector.
He has more than 21 years of global health experience in diagnostics with interests in parasitological diseases diagnosis, control and program, laboratory quality management system, biosafety /biosecurity and continuous quality improvement in supporting health systems.Additionally, he has been involved in new malaria case management as a trainer of the laboratory component from 2009.Mr.Wakungwi was instrumental during the bidding and ultimately hosting of the 29 World Congress of the International Federation of Biomedical laboratory science (IFBLS) in 2010 for the very first time in Africa ,with him being the lead negotiato and country representative.
The Principal Medical Laboratory Technologist joined Masinde Muliro University of science and Technology as a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist/Clinical Instructor for Medical Parasitology and Entomology.in 2013 and has been involved in a number of facilitations, assessments and surveillance projects.Mr.Wakungwi is forthright, innovative, results-oriented with excellent organizational managerial, interpersonal and communication skills.
He currently also works as a Consultant in the Medical Laboratory Sector.

Mount Kenya University – Kenya 2011-2013 BMLS Bachelor of medical laboratory science
Kenya Medical Training College – Kenya 1998-1999 HND Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science (Medical parasitology/Entomology)
Kenya Medical Training College – Kenya 1991-1994 Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science
