Dr. Amon M. Karanja

Dr. Karanja is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. Dr. Karanja has expansive experience in climate change adaptation and low carbon development advocacy, intersection of climate change and Health, women and youth empowerment, application of Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing, capacity building and training. He is well versed in Climate Smart Technology, Innovation and management practice for improved food systems. He has undertaken interdisciplinary research individually and in a consortium on drought adaptations, food systems and value addition. He recently completed a project on transforming research finding into policy brief at the International Livestock Research Institute. Dr. Karanja has supervised various postgraduate projects on Climate Smart Agriculture, Cassava value chain and land use change detections. Dr. Karanja is a member of the Kenya Meteorological Society.
