About this Project

The Project ‘Cultivating the Biosafety and Biosecurity Profession' is intended to deliver various activities and outputs in terms of undergraduate and postgraduate academic programmes, research and innovation projects, community outreach activities in the areas of Biosafety and Biosecurity within the realms of the Global One Health approach. Among our deliverables in the pioneer Bachelor of Science in Biosafety and Biosecurity through local and international partnerships. The curriculum for this 4-year course has been developed in tandem with requirements of Commission for the University Education (CUE). Consultations have also been held with key government ministries including the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Labor, who are exploring opportunities for industrial attachments of MMUST biosafety students during their 3rd and 4th years of study.

Competent Biosafety & Biosecurity professionals are a foundational element to support the safety of individuals handling biological materials in the laboratory, and to safeguard the community and environment from the risks associated with working with these pathogens.
