The 3rd Joint inspection of Medical and Dental Schools and Teaching Hospitals in the Republic of Kenya has ranked MMUST’s School of Medicine among the compliant medics’ trainer institutions. The inspection was carried out by a joint team of technical health experts from the East African Community (EAC) Partner States National Medical and Dental Practitioners Regulatory Councils from 2nd to 6th March, 2020. This was in line with a directive of the 19th Ordinary Meeting of the EAC Sectoral Council of Ministers of Health held in Nairobi from 28th October to 1st November, 2019 under decision No EAC/SCHealth/19/Decision/004.

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), currently the only University in Kenya offering Optometry at degree level, has benefited greatly from the Staff Exchange program with the Norway Government. MMUST is the pioneer of Optometry in the entire East African region. Being so young in the field of Optometry, the University is in collaboration with the government of Norway to ensure capacity building and establishment of a variety of Optometry courses at MMUST.
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has been identified by the United States Embassy for a mentorship program that will involve the department of Journalism and Mass Communication. Courtesy of International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT) Kenyan Chapter, the embassy has funded ten female students from Journalism and Mass Communication department who have been enrolled into a mentorship programme for one year.
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology has effectively articulated the voice of the academia regarding peace and building bridges among the people of Kenya. Rev. Dr. Fr. Kizito L. Muchanga recently launched a book dubbed ‘Peace building in Kenya.’ Fr. Kizito who is a lecturer in the School of Arts and Social Sciences as well as the MMUST Chaplain has set a record to be emulated by other scholars through his book which stresses on inclusivity and the role of the Catholic Church in creating a culture of peace.
The Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology booth was among the busiest stands which received numerous clients during the recently held Career Fair at Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) on 24th and 25th January, 2020. MMUST showcased a diversity of programs and boosted its corporate brand thereby triggering numerous inquiries about the courses offered, how to get to MMUST, intakes, location and talent scholarships.
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) have landed a rare opportunity courtesy the Study of the United States Institutes (SUSI). MMUST earned this prestigious honor after the United States Embassy Cultural Exchange office identified 12 female students from the 11 schools within the University to take part in this innovative program. Prof. John V. O Muoma is coordinating the program on behalf of MMUST.
