Dr. Khasakhala Edward Okaya
Dr. Edward Khasakhala Okaya is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Educational Psychology, School of Education and the Chairman of the Department of Education Psychology at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. He holds a doctorate degree in Special Needs Education specializing in children and adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASDs), from Maseno University (2016), a Masters degree in Special Needs Education (Learning Difficulties) from the University of Birmingham (UK) (2002), Diploma in Special Education from Kenya Institute of Special Education (1997) and Primary Teachers Education (PTE) from Kericho Teachers Training College (1987).
His areas of academic and research interest are in the fields of Inclusive Education, Transformative Education, management of challenging Behaviour, Augmentative and alternative communication and rehabilitative research.He has supervised 1 PhD student and 7 masters.He teaches both postgraduate and undergraduate students at the University
