
MMUST’s Dr. Simon Were Delivers Lecture in Croatia Through Erasmus+ KA171 Programme
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) proudly recognizes Dr. Simon Were Okwachi from the Department of Nutritional Sciences (Hospitality and Institutional Management), who recently represented the University at the College of Hospitality Economics in Croatia under the Erasmus+ KA171 mobility project.

On 22nd May 2025, Dr. Were delivered an informative lecture titled ‘Tour on Kenya: An Exploration on the Diverse Tourist Attractions.’ The lecture provided an in-depth discussion into Kenya’s geographical setting including key entry points for inbound tourism, and the structure of the tourism industry at both ministry and state department levels.
He highlighted Kenya as the ‘Jewel’ of East Africa which is courtesy of its stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and unique wildlife. The lecture emphasized Kenya’s vast potential for sustainable tourism and showcased the country as a leading destination on the African continent.
