MMUST Showcases Innovations at the 2026 ASK Kisumu National Show

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) was among the exhibitors participating in the 2026 Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Kisumu National Show, reaffirming its commitment to innovation, research, technology transfer, and community engagement. 

The annual exhibition, held at the Mamboleo Showground in Kisumu from 22nd to 26th July 2026, is themed “Promoting Climate-Smart Cultural and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Growth.” The event brought together nearly 200 exhibitors from across the country, providing a platform to showcase innovative solutions that promote sustainable agriculture, trade, environmental conservation, and socio-economic development.

MMUST delegation was led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Research and Innovation), Prof. Christopher Ngacho, and coordinated by the Dean, School of Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences and Technology, Dr. Vitalis Ogema, in collaboration with the University’s Marketing Officer, Mr. James Muriithi. 

Speaking during the exhibition, Prof. Ngacho underscored the importance of participating in national exhibitions as a platform for strengthening the University’s visibility, strategic partnerships, and showcasing research-driven innovations that contribute to Kenya’s sustainable development agenda.

The University exhibited a wide range of research innovations, technologies, and academic programmes that demonstrate the it’s vast contribution to addressing societal challenges through research and innovation The exhibition highlighted climate-smart technologies, agricultural innovations, value-addition initiatives, and other cutting-edge solutions developed by its researchers and students.

The University’s participation also offered prospective students, industry stakeholders, researchers, farmers, and members of the public an opportunity to interact with MMUST experts, learn about the institution’s academic programmes, and explore innovations designed to improve livelihoods.

Through its participation at the 2026 ASK Kisumu National Show, MMUST continues to position itself as a leading institution in research, innovation, and community service. It also depicted it’s efforts in advancing practical solutions that support climate resilience, food security, and economic transformation in line with national agenda.
