
MMUST Welcomes New Cohort of First-Year Students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has welcomed its newest cohort of first-year students as admission and registration for the 2026/2027 academic year get underway. The University expects to admit approximately 9,300 students into various undergraduate programmes, with more than 5,000 students already admitted as the exercise progresses.

The Registrar- Academic Affairs- Prof. Judah and Dean-SASS- Dr. Rose Auma oversee the admission exercise at the Customer Care Center and at SASS respectively.
The first day of admission, 20th August 2026, was marked by remarkable efficiency, with all Schools successfully clearing student admission and registration lines within approximately four hours. By midday, there were no long queues, underscoring the University’s preparedness and commitment to providing a seamless experience for students, parents and other stakeholders. The smooth exercise was facilitated by coordinated efforts across various University units, ensuring that students are efficiently guided through the admission, verification and registration processes.

The new students will undergo a week-long orientation programme scheduled to commence on Saturday, 22nd August 2026. The orientation exercise will enable the new ‘MMUSTIANS’ to familiarize with the University’s academic environment, policies, support services, facilities and campus life.
