
MMUST Delivers Impactful Career Guidance Session at Agoro Sare National School as Principal Commends University’s Academic Excellence
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) on 28th July, 2025 conducted a highly-impactful career guidance and mentorship session at Agoro Sare National School, aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and motivation to make informed academic and career choices. The session aimed to empower students with practical insights into career choices, University life, and personal development.
The outreach, spearheaded by the Directorate of Career Services, was led by Dr. Kelvin Machuki, who represented the Director, Career Services. In his keynote address, Dr. Machuki encouraged the students to embrace academic excellence, self-discipline, and a growth mindset. “The future belongs to those who prepare for it today. We are here to walk with you as you navigate the path towards your dreams,” he said. He noted that this initiative is part of MMUST’s strategy to promote informed career decision-making among high school learners. He further provided a detailed guidance on career paths aligned with the students’ interests and strengths, while also introducing MMUST’s diverse academic programs and scholarship opportunities available at the University.

Dr. Machuki was accompanied by Mr. James Muriithi (Marketing Officer), Ms. Faith Karani (Administrator-Administration and Finance Division), Ms. Marcella Nandi and Ms. Eveline Omungala (Directorate of Careers), Ms. Leah Imbagala (Office Assistant-Academic and Student Affairs Division), as well as Ms. Terry Wanjau and Mr. Daudi Kioko (Customer Care Assistants).
Commending MMUST’s contribution to higher education, the Chief Principal of Agoro Sare National School Dr. Isaac Okeyo, lauded the MMUST for its academic excellence, high completion rates, and timely graduation processes. He further praised the institution for producing well-rounded graduates, citing two MMUST students currently undertaking their teaching practice at the school as exemplary models of the University’s training quality. “MMUST is doing an outstanding job in preparing students for the real world. The dedication and professionalism shown by your teaching practice students here at Agoro Sare is a clear reflection of the University’s commitment to excellence,” said Dr. Okeyo.

The visit, which blended mentorship, inspiration, and practical academic advice, left a lasting impression on both students and staff. Many learners expressed renewed motivation and a clearer vision for their future careers, which has been sparked by the MMUST delegation. This initiative is part of MMUST’s broader strategy to provide holistic education by supporting learners at all stages of their academic journey.
