“These programmes are innovative, timely and responsive to emerging needs. They will provide strong foundations for research in their respective fields and strengthen MMUST’s capacity in disaster risk management, neuroscience, hospitality, and events,” said Prof. Bukhala during the opening of the assessment exercise. Additionally, he acknowledged the long-standing collaborative relationship between MMUST and the Commission, and expressed confidence that the university has developed the programmes in line with CUE standards.

Similarly, Mr. Joseph Musyoki pointed out that the role of CUE has gradually evolved from being viewed as an inspector to now acting as a partner in a shared journey of quality with institutions of higher learning. He commended MMUST for embracing the value of accreditation as a guarantee of quality and relevance for its academic programmes. “I am happy to see the innovative programmes you are coming up with, because that is the way to go. The Commission has been encouraging institutions to develop programmes that are responsive to emerging issues in the changing education landscape and these three programmes are moving us decisively in that direction,” he stated.

For MMUST to maintain high quality standards and ensure its students receive credible, well‑structured education that meets national benchmarks, this is definitely the way to go.
