Admission requirements vary depending on the programme and level of study.
Bachelor’s degree programmes: Generally require a minimum KCSE mean grade of C+ (Plus), together with the specific subject requirements for the programme.
Diploma programmes: Requirements vary by programme and may include a KCSE mean grade of C- (Minus) or an equivalent qualification.
Certificate programmes: Requirements vary by programme, with some requiring a minimum of D (Plain) or D+ (Plus).
Postgraduate programmes: Applicants must meet the academic qualifications specified for the particular programme, normally including a relevant undergraduate qualification.
Alternative qualifications: MMUST may also consider relevant A-Level, diploma, or other recognised equivalent qualifications, depending on the programme.

Yes. International students can apply to MMUST using the MMUST Online Admission Portal. Applicants must meet the admission requirements for their chosen programme and provide the required documents, including a valid passport.
Go to MMUST Student Portal.
Click Create Account / Sign Up.
Enter your University Registration Number.
Enter your preferred password.
Re-enter the password to confirm it.
Select Student as your role, if prompted.
Click Submit.
Check your MMUST student email for the portal activation email/link.
Open the activation email and activate your account.
Return to the portal and log in using your registration number and password.
Open a web browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
Go to portal.mmust.ac.ke.
Enter your MMUST Registration Number as the username.
Enter your student portal password.
Click Login.
MMUST students should book accommodation through the Student Portal. First-year students are given priority, and booking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Accommodation is not guaranteed because bed space is limited.
Steps:
Go to MMUST Student Portal.
Log in using your Registration Number and password.
Click Admission.
Select Hostel Booking.
Select the session Semester I 2026/2027.
Select your preferred hostel and available room.
Click Submit.
A successful submission confirms that you have booked a room.
After successfully booking, pay the accommodation fee and present the receipt to the MMUST Finance Department when reporting. Students who do not secure on-campus accommodation must make their own arrangements with private hostel providers.

If you wish to change your programme after admission to MMUST, you should make a formal programme-change request through the University’s admissions/academic procedures.
The request is subject to availability of places, admission requirements for the new programme, and approval by the relevant University authorities. Students should not assume that changing programmes is automatic.
You can apply to defer your admission before reporting to the University. Submit a deferment request to the Admissions Office, stating the reason for deferment. The request is subject to approval by the University.
Download and install the JIUNGE App.
Open the app and tap Sign Up.
Enter your name, phone number, email and password.
Verify your email using the OTP sent to you.
Search for Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).
Tap Add on the home page.
Enter your Student Registration Number.
Tap Add.
Select View Services.
Choose Tuition or Accommodation.
Tap Pay.
Complete the payment and generate/download your receipt.
JIUNGE also indicates that payment receipts can be accessed from My Payments/Payment Histories after payment.

MMUST students pay their fees through the JIUNGE payment platform, which supports M-Pesa and other available payment options displayed in the platform. Students should use the payment method provided through the official JIUNGE fee payment process.
Log in to the MMUST Student Portal and check your fee statement. A successful payment should reflect in your account. If the payment does not appear, contact the Finance Office with your payment confirmation details.
