
MMUST’s Scholar Prof. Peter Wisiuba Bukhalа Conferred Distinguished Fellowship by the International Sports Institute
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) scholar Prof. Peter Wisiuba Bukhala, has been conferred the prestigious title of Distinguished Fellow of the International Sports Institute Educational Trust Ltd/Gte (ISI). The Fellowship recognizes Prof. Bukhala’s outstanding contributions as an accomplished Scholar and Administrator, a dutiful and Distinguished Facilitator of Courses at ISI, and your exemplary Leadership as a Community Leader. Your pioneering work as a Promoter of Inclusive Adaptive Sports and Sports-For-Development Initiatives in Kenya and across the world embodies ISI’s commitment to equity, Health, and sustainable Sports Development.
Prof. Bukhala is conferred the Fellowship in recognition of his distinguished scholarship and academic leadership in Health Promotion and Sport Science, advancing research and teaching at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology; his exemplary facilitation at the International Sports Institute, which has contributed to strengthening professional capacity in Sports Science, Health and Inclusive Programming among African professionals; and his global advocacy and promotion of Inclusive Adaptive Sports and Sports-for-Development initiatives as well as championing access, diversity and social impact through sport in Kenya and beyond.

As a Distinguished Fellow of ISI, Prof. Bukhala is entitled to use the post-nominal DFISI, receive a Certificate of Fellowship and official plaque, and become a member of the ISI Fellows’ Forum, with voting rights and eligibility for global advisory roles. He will also have priority opportunities to participate in ISI’s international programmes, research collaborations and conferences, as well as access to the Institute’s global professional network, academic resources and capacity-building platforms.

Prof. Peter Bukhala is scheduled to be formally decorated during the ISI Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, 5th September 2026, at the Main Hall, Renew Empire, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. We congratulate Prof. Peter Wisiuba Bukhala on this well-deserved international recognition and celebrate his contribution to scholarship, academic leadership, inclusive adaptive sports, health promotion and sports-for-development initiatives, both locally and globally.
