MMUST Risk Management Training Advances With Practical Risk Identification and Assessment
The second day of the MMUST’s Risk Management Training focused on identifying, assessing and responding to institutional risks, equipping participants with practical skills to strengthen risk management practices.

Dr. Constantine Barasa explains a point during the training.
Through interactive group work and practical exercises, participants were guided through the identification of key processes within the University, defining the objectives of each process and identifying potential risks that may affect the achievement of those objectives.

Prof. Maurice Vincent Omolo explains a point during a group discussion.
Participants were placed in groups for a practical exercise on risk identification, where they identified specific institutional objectives, potential causes of risks, the risks associated with the objectives and their possible consequences. The groups further assessed the likelihood and impact of identified risks using established risk-rating guidelines.

The training also emphasized the importance of undertaking risk analysis based on the likelihood of events, their complexity and connectivity, existing controls, potential consequences and other relevant factors to inform appropriate risk treatment strategies.
