This MOU focuses on the following areas of collaboration:

1. Health Information Systems technical skills capacity building for staff and students
2. Technical support to Kakamega County Department of Health
3. Student internships and attachments
4. Joint collaborative research
5. With the support of Kakamega CDH, UON and MMUST will solicit for research grants, donor funds and other funds towards strengthening health information systems
6. Joint participation in seminars, workshops, technical working groups to present and discuss collaborative work
7. Joint policy development
8. Joint health standards development
9. Any other institutional collaborative efforts as may be mutually determined from time to time by the Parties
