Competition for qualification to the Kenyan Premier League was hot on the afternoon of Sunday 18th March 2018. Tough battle in FKF National Division Two Western Zone League between MMUST FC and Bungoma All Stars yielded a 1:1 draw.
The game, played on the pitch of Kakamega Rehabilitation School, saw the visitors take an early 10th minute lead. MMUST FC overcame the rainy weather and made a great comeback in the 15th minute by a goal from Solomon Koin. MMUST FC continued being the relentless dominant attackers throughout the game.
“We deserved to win but unfortunately we conceded an early goal and lost a host of chances.” said the MMUST FC Head Coach Olima Akumu. He has high expectations that the team will get three points in their next fixture against Butali FC on Sunday 25th March. MMUST FC squad comprises of 19 current students while the rest being alumni. The team has set high target of competing in the Kenyan Premier League. MMUST Management is the current sponsor.
