Professor Isabel Sigwes from Spain has donated hundreds of pairs of contact lenses to the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). The donation which took place on 2nd October 2024, during a courtesy call to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs), Prof. Hussein Golicha, aims to support students who have difficulty affording corrective eyewear. With many students relying on visual aids to excel in their studies, this initiative is expected to impact their academic performance and overall well-being profoundly.
Prof. Golicha expressed gratitude for Prof. Sigwe’s contribution, highlighting the University’s commitment to supporting students’ health and education. “This generous donation will not only improve the quality of life for many of our students but also set a wonderful example of community engagement and support,” said Prof. Golicha.
