The Af-STAG board is part of the global Science and Technology Advisory Group (STAG) which advises the global community on how to improve resilience to disasters and ensure the wellbeing of people through better scientific and technological understanding. STAG seeks to enhance science based decision making at the continental, regional and national levels. The board meets quarterly to design, develop and implement science based Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) programs. Through Af-STAG, Dr. Nyandiko and other appointees from other parts of the world will engage in fundraising and proposal writing on a global scale. Clearly, Dr. Nyandiko is a man to watch in Disaster Risk Reduction international expertise.
